Today we went to San Diego and visited La Jolla beach, where seals come up on the rocks. There weren't as many as there usually are but we got to see one of them up close. He looked dead at first but it turned out he was just taking a nap on the rocks. Seals have weird eyes, they're so completely black that they kind of just look like holes. We then stood on the rocky beach and let the waves come up and splash us. The sound of the waves crashing against rocks is so satisfying and powerful. That beach wasn't much of a swimming beach, so we walked a bit, grabbed some lunch, then headed to Coronado beach, located on Coronado Island. We jumped waves and buried each other in sand for the rest of the day. By the end we were getting pretty good at riding the waves. The sand on Coronado beach actually sparkles, which makes the water sparkle. It looks like it has little pieces of fool's gold in it, which are actually the mineral mica apparently. I was shedding glitter for the rest of the day. I think I still have some on me even after a shower. Everything was so picturesque, the sky was clear and bright blue, the water and waves were as well, and everything glistened in the sun.We had a blast in the car on the way back and now we're chilling and watching the Olympics.

Bridge to Corondo.
My stalker who kept begging for food.
There's a Naval base on Coronado, so there were ships out on the horizon and planes and helicopters flying overhead.
Sleepy in the sun.
Hard to see, but there are seals and seagulls out on the rocks.
